Why don't I see a 'Buy Now' button, and why is Escrow.com the method of checkout on Proffery?
For a negotiated sale type of an arrangement, the type of marketplace that proferee.com is. It requires a specific kind of checkout experience to make sure that it works for both the buyer and the seller. For us there is no choice but escrow.com to do this in the way that is required of serious buyers and sellers. There are four main reasons for this .
Number one security. Escrow.com has handled billions of dollars in transactions and handles transactions up to $100 million. Proferee.com is a small development team and we intend to keep it that way. But there is no chance that we could build a payment system as robust and secure as escrow.com has. They are already a trusted name and they have had no significant breaches.
Further, proferee.com doesn't wish to store your information at all. Ideally, we wouldn't know who you are, but we do store enough so that we can initiate transactions between buyers and sellers. Fortunately for us, we do not have any of your payment information, your physical address, phone numbers, or those kinds of identifying information and we like it that way. We do not want to end up on a security breach website where people's valuable information has been compromised. And the only real way to keep that from ever happening is to not have that information on our servers like to begin with.
Number two is transparency. Escrow.com has defined fees and a fee schedule so everyone knows what they're getting into before they start. Proferee.com never touches your payment information and we do not take a portion of the transaction, so the only fees that you will see at the end are the same fees that you will see on the escrow.com website.
At some point we may add advertising. For example, things like other items you might be interested in, but we are going to keep this to an absolute minimum for as long as we can run this without them. We will be receiving affiliate fees from escrow.com when transactions are completed but those fees do not affect the fees on escrow.com. they are a portion of the fees rather than an addition to the fees or anything like that.
We Will always be transparent about where our money comes from and we will do our best to minimize any invasive advertising that keeping th ?(425) 405-0459? • 1:50 PM Message from ?(425) 405-0459?, This marketplace running requires. Number three is simplicity. When you list items on marketplaces in general, you have to be prepared for all of the lowball offers and strange scam requests. You will get for ACH information or cashier's checks or insurance schemes. None of that can happen on proferee.com because the only direct message you can receive is a number which is a binding offer. We do not want to waste your time and so we will not allow visitors to take up your time with questions. Questions can be asked but they are all public and the seller has the option of whether those are shown or not. Once a seller has received an offer they have essentially three choices. They can accept the offer, reject the offer, or counter the offer. You can set up thresholds to avoid being notified of any offers too low to consider. But for the most part, this is the only decision you have to make whether or not to accept an offer. This also limits the kinds of buyers that proferee.com attracts because we want buyers who are here to buy rare items because they want them not because they want to buy from a seller who might be unaware of the value of what they have. For all of these reasons, escrow.com is truly the only choice that we could have made in terms of payment processing for a negotiated sales marketplace like proferee.com intends to become. They provide security, transparency and simplicity and we hope to do business with them for a very long time, Friday, May 24 2024, 1:50 PM.
